We give our Christmas gifts to the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea connects us all here at Telinekataja. The same sea washes the shores of Finland, Sweden, and Estonia. This year, we give our Christmas gifts to John Nurminen Foundation to support their efforts to save the Baltic Sea.

Telinekataja Annamme joululahjamme Itämerelle
Kiitos kuluneesta vuodesta kaikille telinekatajalaisille, asiakkaillemme ja yhteistyökumppaneillemme. Tunnelmallista joulua, onnea uudelle vuodelle 2024!

Eutrophication is the biggest issue the Baltic Sea has to face. Even though the nutrient discharges have been halved since the 1980s, the changes they have caused continue to pester the sea, for instance in the form of mass outbreaks of blue-green algae.

We support the work of John Nurminen Foundation, as they carry out effective and concrete actions to protect and preserve the Baltic Sea. They strive to ensure that the stories and the legacy of the sea are passed on to the future generations.

The projects by John Nurminen Foundation aim to improve the state of the Baltic Sea by reducing nutrient discharges and by preventing harmful substances from entering the sea. Established in 1992, the foundation’s mission is also to preserve, revitalize and transmit the cultural heritage related to the sea and the peoples living with it. The foundation’s work is driven by results and measurable effects, and mainly funded by donations and grants.  www.johnnurmisensaatio.fi/en
